More Than a Decade of Dedication: Poltekpar NHI Bandung Lecturers Support Hajj Catering Services for Indonesian Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia

This year, a total of 221,000 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims once again received high-quality meal services from professionals who are no strangers to the task—the lecturers of Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung.

For over a decade, since 2014, Poltekpar NHI Bandung lecturers have been entrusted with a vital role in the Hajj catering operations. This initiative is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism, under which Poltekpar NHI Bandung operates.

This trust is well-earned. Since their involvement in the Hajj catering system, there have been no significant issues reported. The services have consistently run smoothly and professionally, with meals that meet nutritional standards, hygiene requirements, and the distinctive taste of Indonesian cuisine.

This year’s assigned lecturers in Saudi Arabia include: Mr. Agung Ilham, Mr. Rusna Purnama, Mr. Sukarno Wibowo, Mr. Dadang Suratman, Ms. Ayu Nurwitasari, Mr. Geri Dewanto, and Mr. Ridwan Iskandar.

During their approximately 90-day service in the Holy Land, the lecturers’ primary responsibility is to ensure that every meal served to pilgrims is nutritionally adequate and supports the smooth performance of their pilgrimage.

Pilgrims can rest assured, as all food preparation processes are directly supervised by culinary experts from Poltekpar NHI Bandung. Moreover, the lecturers also provide training to the catering staff and chefs.

Interestingly, many of the kitchen staff are not Indonesian nationals and have never cooked Indonesian food before. This makes the presence of Poltekpar NHI Bandung lecturers crucial in preserving the authenticity and quality of Indonesian dishes in Saudi Arabia.

From the entire academic community of Poltekpar NHI Bandung, we extend our heartfelt support to all participating lecturers. May you be blessed with health, strength, and success in carrying out this noble duty. Aamiin.
