As part of the final series of practical training, students from the Hospitality Department of NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic once again held a Gala Dinner, this time bringing a unique and high-energy theme: “Born to Rock.”
Unlike previous editions that emphasized formal elegance, this event embraced a spirit of self-expression and boldness. Students dressed in classic rocker-themed attire—from leather jackets and denim to rock ‘n’ roll accessories—making the evening not just a showcase of skills, but also a vibrant expression of character and creativity.
The Gala Dinner was officially opened by Mr. Haryadi Darmawan, Vice Director III of NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic, who expressed appreciation for the students’ creativity and hard work in preparing the event as part of their practical learning experience.
Students took on various roles—from the production kitchen to the service area—applying what they’ve learned throughout their training. High standards were maintained in every aspect, from food presentation and service to event coordination.
The event’s chairperson, Mr. Aries Riswandi, a lecturer from the Room Division Study Program, explained that the “Born to Rock” theme was chosen to give students a different kind of experience while demonstrating that the hospitality industry can be presented creatively without losing its professional essence.
“Through this theme, students are encouraged to maintain service standards while adding a touch of creativity and expressive courage. The hospitality world is constantly evolving and needs individuals who are not only technically skilled but also adaptive and strong in character,” he stated.
This event served as part of the final practical evaluation as well as a hands-on, enjoyable learning platform. By combining entertainment and real-work simulation, the Born to Rock-themed Gala Dinner proved that Hospitality Department students are ready to face a dynamic and challenging industry.
