“Benchmarking and Coordination Related to Archive Management to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy”

#enhaiiers, last week Poltekpar NHI Bandung conducted Benchmarking and Coordination Activities related to Archive Management to the Deputy for Strategic Policy and the General, Legal, and Procurement Bureau at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Present at the event was the Head of the General Section of Poltekpar NHI Bandung. The event was received by Mr. Sari Tirto Warino, Acting Head of the General, Procurement, and Legal Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and the archivist team from the Deputy for Strategic Policy and the General, Legal, and Procurement Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

This activity aims to understand strategic steps related to the comprehension, evaluation, and management of archives in accordance with the regulations from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Additionally, the Deputy for Strategic Policy has been awarded the Best Archive Management Unit for two consecutive years (2022 & 2023) within the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency. Thus, it serves as a good example for coordination and on-site inspection of the Archive Room.

Archive management requires support from Human Resources by placing at least two archivists/officials specifically managing archives in each Archival Unit and Processing Unit (equivalent to Es.II), as well as the necessary facilities and infrastructure, including space/storage, filing cabinets, PC/Laptop, and office supplies. The minimum requirements for inactive archives include storage space, archive racks, archive boxes, PC/Laptop, and office supplies, as well as other resources such as funding.

Archive management within the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency refers to the Decree of the Minister of Tourism/Head of the Creative Economy Agency Number SK.35/um.07.00/mk/2022 regarding the Management of Dynamic Archives. The implementation of dynamic archive management is used as a reference to ensure the availability of archives in the context of good and clean state and government administration, in accordance with the goals mandated by the Archival Law.

The follow-up actions from this meeting are:

  • Formation of the Archive Management Task Force
  • Conducting Technical Guidance for Archive Managers (Dynamic Archives)
  • Preparing the Supporting Facilities and Infrastructure for Archive Management
  • Archival Assessments by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia in each Technical Implementation Unit, to be conducted at the beginning of 2025
